TV BEAUTY Simone Lahbib has told how a terror sex attack on her doorstep left her fearing for her life.

A pervert pounced on Simone - jail governor Helen Stewart in the series Bad Girls - and tried to rip off her clothes as she arrived home from a night out.

The traumatised star said: "I was so frightened. It was the most sickening, horrible experience - very scary.

"Now I look back and I'm just relieved I got away with my life. It could have been so much worse. I was very, very lucky."

Gritty Simone, 34, escaped after clawing her way out of his clutches and ringing the flat doorbell to raise the alarm.

That scared him off - and as her boyfriend, who had nipped to a late-night shop, dashed to her the sex fiend fled.

The gorgeous brunette, whose raunchy on-screen lesbian kisses with prisoner Nikki - Mandana Jones - were watched by millions of viewers, was left shaken and in need of hospital treatment for a gashed leg.

Simone had just stepped out of a taxi after a party when the pervert struck on the doorstep of the home in North London.

She was left alone while her actor boyfriend nipped into a nearby shop to buy cigarettes.

Simone recalled: "Suddenly I heard somebody coming up behind me. I cut in towards the house expecting the footsteps to go past, but they didn't.

"He came right up behind me as I stood at the front door trying to get in. He pulled my skirt up to my waist and tried to pull my clothes off. The more frightened I got the more turned on he became."

Simone had to fight hard not to panic. She said: "I'd had no training in what to do in such a situation, but I knew I must keep as calm as possible.

"Luckily I managed to push him back and ring the doorbell.

"There was actually no one in the house but it was enough to frighten him off. He backed off - but still had a smile on his face.

"My boyfriend arrived and when I told him what had happened he went running out to try to catch the attacker."

Simone whipped off her high heels and put on running shoes to chase after them - but sadly, the shocked star was left even more shaken.

She said: "As I ran out a drain cover in the pathway collapsed and my leg went down the hole. I sliced my leg open and could feel the blood running down my leg."

Simone had to go to hospital for treatment.

The couple called police - but were angry when cops took four hours to respond to their 999 call. Simone said: "By the time they turned up we'd already gone to hospital."

Simone then started to blame herself. She said: "I kept re- running it in my head. It was 4 o'clock in the morning, I did have high heel shoes on and a party dress. Was it my fault?

"It wasn't until much later that I realised it wasn't. No one has a right to do what he did. But it was a long time before I felt comfortable walking around London on my own."

Simone was determined not to allow the attack to spoil her career and is thrilled by her Bad Girls role.

She said: "It is one of my most challenging yet."

And she revealed it took 17 takes to film the controversial kiss. Simone added: "It wasn't a problem. I knew the storyline from the beginning so was sure it would involve a kiss."

Simone is now looking forward to more great storylines, with co-stars like Claire King, in the drama series and... getting married.

"My boyfriend proposed just before Christmas - it's brilliant."
